Local Gardening Societies & Clubs
Nevada County Bonsai Club - The American Bonsai Association of Sacramento educates and promotes the ancient art of Bonsai, holds workshops and provides for the exchange of ideas, experiences and information relating to bonsai.
Sacramento Area Beekeepers Association -The Sacramento Area Beekeepers Association has been Sacramento’s premier beekeeping organization since the 1970’s. Their primary goal is to increase the public awareness of bees as pollinators and they also are a great resource for those interested in beekeeping as a hobby. Stop by their booth in the Garden Pavilion to learn more about bees and the people who love them!
Sacramento Orchid Society - The Sacramento Orchid Society is an educational organization dedicated to providing information on the cultivation of orchids to the greater Sacramento community. The Society's very active membership grows an almost unimaginable number of orchid species and hybrids on windowsills, patios, in yards, under lights, and in greenhouses.
Sacramento Cactus & Succulent Society- Going back all the way to 1960, the Sacramento Cactus & Succulent Society has been holding meetings where long-time members and curious newcomers alike share their interest for this group of hardy, beautiful plants! The organization regularly holds giveaways, takes field trips and has monthly educational presentations. Stop by their booth to see some of their favorite plant specimens and find out more about how you can grow your own!
Delta Gesneriad and African Violet Society -The Delta Gesneriad and African Violet Society is dedicated to African Violets and their "cousins.” This organization educates its members with guest speakers on the newest cultivars, growing advice, hands-on workshops, plants and supplies.
Sacramento Iris Society & Sierra Foothills Iris Society- Membership in SIS and SFIS is open to all. SIS and SFIS are nonprofit organizations affiliated with the American Iris Society. Membership is made of people that share a common interest and passion for the beautiful and very diverse iris family. Although our focus is usually on bearded iris, we collect and admire the other iris forms, such as pacific coast irises, Japanese, Siberians, and Spurias, to name a few.
UCCE Master Gardeners of Placer County- The University of California Cooperative Extension in Placer County is a group of certified volunteers who focus on helping you succeed in your home garden, landscape and orchard, through public education and outreach.
America Begonia Society- Founded in 1948, The Joan Coulat – Sacramento Branch of the American Begonia Society is an affiliate of the American Begonia Society. Our organization is dedicated to the culture, protection, and appreciation of begonias all over the world. We bring together people in the Sacramento Region who are interested in the culture and propagation of begonias.
Sacramento Floral Design Guild- Founded in 1951, the Sacramento Floral Design Guild is dedicated to the advancement of floral design and the promotion of civic and environmental responsibilities. Members regularly present their own floral designs to the guild and guild members will share their own tips and techniques for the advancement of the craft. Stop by their booth in the Garden Pavilion to meet the members of this fantastic organization and get some floral design tips of your own!
American Fuchsia Society - The Sacramento Branch of the American Fuchsia Society is dedicated to the purpose of acquainting flower enthusiasts with the beauty of fuchsias and teaching techniques for growing healthy blooming plants.
Chrysanthemum Society of Sacramento- The National Chrysanthemum Society was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1954. It has members living in nearly all states in the USA and many foreign countries. The Society’s members include chrysanthemum specialists, horticulturists, nurserymen, as well as garden clubs, botanical gardens, universities, and libraries. NCS is primarily for the amateur gardener who enjoys growing chrysanthemums but also welcomes commercial growers.
